i know i haven't written for some time. i also haven't used public transport, shoes, hair brush or house keys. this is different than how i usually live (ok, maybe the non-hair brushing is a permanent thing) but i came back with full trust and a big appetite for change (well, also super ugly cracks on my dry heels, and an unkempt house that needs a serious clean up but i'm ok with that) and this past week-end i had the chance to run away from the city yet for another time. destination: south of turkey on the aegean coast; only for two short days and they were spent with mum, best friend and a toddler who has the best personality, cutest looks and the fortune to live with two gourmet cooks (literally) who happen to be her parents, how lucky! some pictures below tell the story of these delightful meals we've had. obviously i've ended up eating too much of that wonderful sour bread. now i'll get home to my huge big laundry pile that needs attending to.

wise cat
after i've
added these photos i thought 'these are a bit repetitive', then i've
realised the reason is because when i take photos at my home i tend to get
drawn to the same sights, this view from my bedroom being one of them. well,
life can also be a bit repetitive too, our routines take over sometimes,
although things never stay the same-we never stay the same; accepting all kinds
of change is a big part of surrendering to life. i should remind myself that
more often. mundane daily tasks are a small fraction of the bigger picture,
they draw on the big canvas that's going to turn into a painting. i'm
slowly learning that.
the cat and i have spent quite a
bit of time together this week-end, i've cleaned and cooked (let me re-word
that: i've 'prepared' some food), hah! he has lazed around, kept
searching for the coolest spot in the house and napped right wherever he found
it. he has such simple objectives and aspirations in life, adorable and also
enviable too, he's a natural born buddha. i, on the other hand, managed to
worry about the stains on my table cloth (being the perfect housewife that i am- i.e. see the empty saltshakers), not very wise is it? girl needs a few
lessons from the cat.

not a domestic goddess
i had some problems with my camera, therefore failed to document a post i had in mind which was kind of more thematic than this. on the other hand, there's something that looks like a very promising thematic activity over the week-ends for me: ironing. i mean heaps of it and for hours. while this new understanding of 'going back to domesticity' theme is making some women on the blogosphere look spectacularly good (with their home-made pickle making skills and sewing adventures), i am suffering. and i'm jealous. the dilemma.
in the meantime, istanbul at the background was grinding and buzzing. honestly, i can almost hear the vibrations of the city. so i went out and walked in it and contributed to the buzz. i came back and made myself a frozen yogurt with pieces of fresh peaches in. my domestic endeavours are -as you may already have noticed- far from being sophisticated but that yogurt was delicious, with a hint of cinnamon on top. here are some completely irrelevant and random snaps (these wooden guys at the last image are from my grandad which i absolutely adore: a team of a bottle opener and a wine opener).
